NewElitism

NewElitism is my first blog. I’ll try hard not to make it suck. So, first of all, what the **** is new elitism? New elitism is part of how is see society. Basically I think that the elite (in terms of intellect, knowledge, ability, wealth or earning power) is responsible for the wellbeing of society as a whole. The described elite is in a position to take responsibility and has the leverage to induce change, development and advancement in a much more effective way than others within society.

Social balance and mitigation of the effects of the growing divide between the rich and the poor is therefore also the responsibility of those already on the sunny side of it. In other words (and in monetary terms): If you have enough money not to worry about it every day, it is your duty to be generous and charitable. (Simple example: Give tips when you’re happy with the service in a restaurant.)

As my interests are very varied, on this blog you’ll see stuff about:

• politics, society (this will be mostly on german politics)
• business and the economy including criticism of aspects of capitalism (i am a die-hard capitalist but some things are not going too well)
• online life and weirdness of the web cosmos
• linux (Yes, I am an evangelist since I made the switch.)
• zeitgeist
• probably other stuff too

Most content will be in English. Sometimes I’ll also write in German. Posts will categorized accordingly and you can thereby filter to your liking. The photography section will probably only be interesting for people who know me. But feel free to look around.
